Munting Ngiti Hakbang ng Kinabukasan Pag-asa 2- A community Outreach Program 2014

Ramadan – A Month of Fasting

Ramadan is a period of fasting, reflection, devotion, generosity and sacrifice observed by Muslims around the world.  While major holidays of other faiths have largely become commercialized events, Ramadan retains its intense spiritual meaning. Ramadan is a Muslim festival celebrated all over the world which falls on the ninth month of Islamic calendar. It is the period when the holy Quran was disclosed to Prophet Muhammad.

  • Through fasting, a Muslim experiences hunger and thirst, and sympathizes with those in the world who have little to eat every day.
  • Through increased devotion, Muslims feel closer to their Creator, and recognize that everything we have in this life is a blessing from Him.
  • Through family and community gatherings, Muslims strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, in their own communities and throughout the world.

Muslims fast for the whole month which is regarded as one of the five pillars, beliefs or duties of Islam. During the whole month when the sun shines they do not drink or eat anything. Before the sun raises, Muslims get up for suhoor and consume meal. Fast is broken only after setting of sun and they eat Iftar meal. The basic purpose of fasting is to remind them of the poor people’s sufferings and to practice self control and cleansing of mind and body. During the whole month, entire Quran is read by Muslims, they visit mosques and remember Allah means God.

Ramadan is a very special time for Muslims, but the feelings and lessons we experience should stay with us throughout the year.  May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and guide us all to the Straight Path.  May Allah bless us all during Ramadan, and throughout the year, with His forgiveness, mercy, and peace, and bring us all closer to Him and to each other.

Muslims are commanded to fast so that they may “learn self-restraint”-  (Qur’an 2:183).

And  specially helps when your listening to the sweetest music that you always feels in love  … the feeling is in the air.

Chocolates is available anytime in any stores .. flower and chocolates are the best thing to buy for your loved ones!
